Network Admission Control (NAC)

Traditionally network administrators use only username and password to determine what resources are available to network users. However it is possible that a user can authenticate with a valid username and password using a device which poses a threat to the network. NAC allows devices to be accessed prior to admission by analysing criteria like operating system version, registry keys and antivirus definition level. Once the device has been accessed, the NAC will determine whether the device meets with the security policies set by the company and enforce an appropriate access policy. eCom has deployed many NAC solutions across Ireland and we have found that our clients generally have one of the following two drivers for deploying NAC:
